Biography

Pau Closas was born in Manresa in 1980. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, in 2003. His Master\'s Thesis was related with the Cospas-Sarsat system and in 2004 he got involved in the European Space Agency research project SAR related to Search and Rescue service to be included in Galileo payload. From 2005, he is the recipient of a Ministry of Education grant to work towards his Ph.D. degree, joining the Signal Processing and Communications group at UPC as a research assistant, getting involved in European (WINSOC), Spanish (TECNAV, ECO), Catalan (COMalaWEB) and ESA funded projects (SAR, CORPA, Secure TT&C). His primary areas of interest include statistical and array signal processing, estimation theory, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Multipath Mitigation, Bayesian filtering and digital communications.
