Biography

Javier Rubio López received the B.S. degree (with highest honors), the M.S. degree (with highest honors), and the Ph.D. degrees (cum laude) all in Electrical Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in July 2010, July 2012, June 2016, respectively.

From June 2015 to September 2015 he was with the Wireless Systems Lab at Stanford University under supervision of Prof. Andrea Goldsmith. From September 2009 to July 2010 he was with the Wireless Access Research Center at University of Limerick, Ireland, where he developed his bachelor thesis in the field of cognitive radio networks. In April 2011, he joined the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at UPC where he worked as a research assistant until December 2012.

His main research interests include energy-aware resource allocation, energy harvesting techniques, optimization theory, and heterogeneous networks.
