Summary

Development of the three digital on-board integrated S-band Spread Spectrum communication processors for telecommand and ranging between the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) , the International Space Station (ISS) and Earth in a scenario of heavy interference: 1) PLIST: Proximity Link ISS Spread Spectrum Transponder 2) PLAST: Proximity Link ATV Spread Spectrum Transponder and 3) TDRSS: transponder between the ATV and NASA's TDRSS network. The ATV transponders underwent extremely successful field trials in a satellite link between Houston and ALCATEL Espacio's site in Madrid.
