Biography

Francesc Molina received his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2017 and completed his Ph.D. in Signal Theory and Communications in late 2021, both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in Barcelona, Spain.

His research track record encompasses wireless communications and information theory. From 2017 to 2022, he was with the Signal Processing and Communications Group at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, first as a Ph.D. researcher and later as a postdoctoral researcher following the completion of his Ph.D. During this period, he contributed to the study of the massive multiple access problem in integrated satellite-terrestrial systems. His doctoral work was recognised with the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award by the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society. He subsequently held postdoctoral positions in information theory, first at the Signal Processing and Communications Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 2023, and then at the Information Theory and Coding Group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain, from 2024 to 2025. Since June 2025, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
